ICC-ES AC25

Full Name

ICC-ES AC25 – Acceptance Criteria for Metal Composite Material (MCM)

Scope

ICC-ES AC25 establishes the basis by which metal composite material (MCM) can be evaluated in an ICC-ES evaluation report under the International Building Code (IBC).

Specifically, AC25 covers the following aspects of MCM:

  • Materials: requirements for the metal skins, core material, and adhesive used in MCM, including fire performance, durability, and weather resistance.
  • Manufacturing: requirements for the manufacturing process of MCM, including quality control and testing.
  • Performance: requirements for the structural performance of MCM, including wind load resistance, impact resistance, and fire resistance.
  • Installation: requirements for the installation of MCM, including attachment methods and sealing.

The scope of AC25 is limited to the evaluation of MCM for its intended use as an exterior wall cladding material in buildings. It does not cover other uses of MCM, such as interior wall panels or roofing materials.
