ICC-ES AC100

Full Name

ICC-ES AC100 – Acceptance Criteria for Air-conditioning Equipment Pads

Scope

ICC-ES AC100 establishes the requirements for air conditioning equipment pads to be recognized in an ICC-ES evaluation report under the International Building Code (IBC).

The scope of AC100 covers the following aspects:

  • Materials: it specifies the requirements for the materials used in the construction of air conditioning equipment pads, including the concrete, reinforcement, and any other components.
  • Design and construction: it outlines the design and construction requirements for air conditioning equipment pads, including their dimensions, tolerances, and load-bearing capacity.
  • Performance: it defines the performance requirements for air conditioning equipment pads, including their resistance to wind uplift, seismic loads, and corrosion.
  • Testing: it details the testing procedures to be used to evaluate the performance of air conditioning equipment pads, including structural testing, wind uplift testing, and seismic testing.

In essence, AC100 serves to ensure that air conditioning equipment pads used in construction projects meet the necessary safety and performance standards as outlined in the IBC. This provides confidence to builders and engineers that the pads will adequately support the air conditioning equipment and withstand the environmental conditions to which they will be exposed.
